Whitewater Rafting the Salmon River - Pulaski, NY

Whitewater dam releases turn the Salmon River  into a whitewater rafting paradise each summer. Conveniently located near Pulaski, New York, the Salmon River's fun-filled whitewater offers the perfect summer getaway. Meet White Water Challengers at the Stoney Pineville Campground near Pulaski, New York.

Whitewater dam releases are scheduled on the Salmon River for only three weekends each summer when there is less interference with fishermen.  Space is limited so be sure to reserve your rafting date well in advance.

Bring a light lunch or snack for the mid-day stop.  There are also ample opportunities for splashing, sun-bathing and picture taking along the way.

For this trip, you can choose either family style rafts or more adventurous funyaks.  Each trip is led by experienced guides.

For family style rafts, participants should be at least 8 years of age.  For more adventurous funyaks, a minimum of 12 is recommended.

What's Included?
All your rafting equipment, instruction before the trip, shuttles to and from the river, and, of course, personable, professional guides who will accompany you throughout the day.

Whitewater Rafting the Black River - Watertown, NY

Take a crack at the Black!

The Black River Canyon, near Watertown, New York, is a rare whitewater gem ... an unusual warm-water Mecca, where summertime rafting is as good as it gets anywhere. The narrow canyon forces the river through constricted passageways where boulders and ledges turn the fast moving water into a maelstrom of whitewater foam and fury.

Come during May and June for the highest flows and most powerful whitewater.  This is a hang-on-to-your-hats rafting trip, where teamwork and strong paddling are the key.  A summertime rafting trip is a real fun-in-the-sun beach-party-style river adventure.  The whitewater is still exciting, and the canyon offers idyllic coves and eddies for swimming, snacking or just plain relaxing.

White Water Challengers offers the longest whitewater rafting trip on the Black River, including all the rapids like Club House Turn, Hole Brothers, Three Rocks, Cruncher and Rocket Ride.  An on-river snack and cookout dinner are included with each rafting trip.

Good things to know before you arrive at the
Salmon River or Black River rafting center...

Check-in Time is not Departure Time!
Your written confirmation includes a "Check-in time" for each of the activities you've reserved. This is the time that you and your group should be on-site, ready to begin the process of completing paperwork and dressing for the trip.  It isn't the time the rafts are scheduled to launch, nor is it the time the bus shuttle leaves for the river.

In Your Raft - To Bring Or Not To Bring!
At the Salmon River, you can bring a light snack with you in the raft.   Ice chests and coolers are not permitted. Please do not bring your change of clothes, towels, valuables, keys, cameras (if not waterproof), or other items.  These can be easily lost or damaged if taken in the raft.

Bring The Correct Footwear!
Please wear old sneakers.  Sandals or flip flops that leave toes or ankles exposed are to be avoided.

Strap On Your Glasses!
Eye glasses are permitted although discouraged unless needed.  Eyeglass straps are essential. Contacts are acceptable, but may at times be splashed or otherwise affected.

Water Levels Can Change Quickly!
River levels can sometimes rise or fall unexpectedly.  When we are able, we'll notify you in advance if a dramatic change has occurred.  In all cases, though, we'll select the best available river route, based on the preferences you've requested.
