Diane Vezendy is presently a
senior at Sandy Creek Central School and started skiing recreationally with the
Bill Koch Screamers in 1997. She learned how to to ski while playing games with other kids and realized her passion was to continue to learn to ski
faster. She entered the races at the annual Bill Koch Festivals and earned medals
each year from 1999 till
outgrowing the group in 2003.
Now Diane continues ski racing
as an independent athlete for
Sandy Creek ending her junior year with a
7th place finish at States.
Diane has also earned medals at
the State relay races in 2004 and 2005. For the past
three years Diane has been a
member of the Mid-Atlantic
Junior Olympic Team and has competed in the Eastern High School Championships.
Diane is a member of the
National Honor Society and also participates in
the sports of cross country and track at Sandy Creek. By leading the
Screamer Bill Koch League, Diane's objective is to introduce our local area skiing youth to "new friends, fun with skis, and a variety of new
experiences." |
