| All rides must be coordinated with Roy - Roy@salmonhills.com
All Dog Sled Rides are given by World Class Dog Musher and 2X International Silver Medalist Roy Smith from the Tug Hill Plateau area.
We offer rides any day of the week, not just weekends. Also note, all rides when possible will be given in the time frame of 10am. until 1PM unless of severe weather or extremely cold temperatures.
All children under the age of 12 MUST wear a helmet (provided) and sorry but no children under the age of 8 are allowed to participate, however we will offer a short 1 mile ride with 2 dogs and a parent afterwards if you want.
The rides we offer are a short 'introduction' to dog sledding and are 1 hour in length from time we leave to time we get back. Teams of 8 to 14 dogs will be used depending on the number of participants and 1 or 2 sleds accordingly. Participants will sit or stand and 'drive' the dog team and take turns doing so. Musher will follow in tow and control the dog team.
We take a 15 minute break down on the Salmon River Reservoir to let the dogs run around, take photos, hand out doggie treats, get to know your dogs, pooper scoop, and pick a favorite! Then we return back to the Salmon Hills Lodge.
